Xiangxi Rural Women's Training Center is an independent training center committed to helping minority women by encouraging, developing and selling their traditional handicrafts. Producer groups range from single women making embroidery to extended family groups or village cooperatives making handbags and wood items. Xiangxi Women's Training Center is committed to the welfare of the producers and assists many craftspeople and their children with education, banking, design, training, and management. The Center is headquartered in Jishou, Hunan, China, but producers are located in Yunnan, Guizhou and the West Hunan Wulin mountain regions. Global Exchange offers an extensive line of handbags, blue table cloths, and indigenous wood products from minority crafts. For many rural women, the income they are making from what they stitch is the only money coming into their family.
Women and rural children thank you for buying their products.
