Summer Camp

China Summer Teaching Schedule

Welcome aboard! We at EAFI are delighted that you have chosen to spend some of your time this summer teaching English and providing an American model to the Chinese people. The following schedule will provide detail on where you will be, contact information and what generally you will be doing. Should you have any questions, please call Dr. Zhou at 808-956-8777 or email katezhou@hawaii.edu. Dr.Zhou is arranging airfare for those who need this service. If you have not yet provided her with proof of medical coverage and /or your disclaimer abd release forms, get that to her no later than May 28,2004, otherwise you will need to make your own travel arrangements. As a volunteer, your lodging and meals are provided. Out of pocket costs include your visa, airfare from the US to China and airfare from Kunming to Shanghai. It is suggested you bring extra money for incidental such as taxifare, gifts, etc. For safety, you will be expected to stay with the group and in group activities at all time and local guides will be providing for special volunteer activities.

July 7-8: During the day, tours to tourist attractions in Beijing.

July 7-19: Evenings will be spent refining-teaching English to government officials.

July 20: Take a flight to Kunming. Lodging: Yunnan Provincial Tourism School 268 Longquan Road, Kunming, Yunnan, Phone 01186-871-5187070

July 21: Opening ceremonies inthe morning

July 21-31: Teaching of high school and middle school students

Aug 1: Tour the Rock Forest(Shilin)

Aug 2: Take the overnight train to Jishou

Aug 3: Arrive Jishou Middle School, Mr. Shi Gang, Phone 01186-13327230-259

Aug 4: Opening ceremonies

Aug 4-15: Teaching English to students

Aug 16: Overnigh train to Shanghai

Aug 17,18: Depart Shanghai per your schedule to United States.
